Here to stay: How to make your swimsuit last

Many swimsuits on the market today are not built to last. Due to low-quality Spandex and flimsy designs, these suits are destined to be saggy after one season. And let’s face it, a saggy swimsuit is just the worst. It looks worn out. It fits weird. It billows in the water, creating drag and collecting debris. Sometimes it shows way too much.

Swimmers, surfers, and active lifestyle enthusiasts are always on the hunt for swimwear that can keep up with them. Long-lasting swimwear just makes sense. For starters, it’s cost effective – the suits last for years. That’s fewer replacements for you to buy. Find your fave and don’t let go.

We also want sustainable swimsuits that are planet-friendly. After all, it’s our playground! The compression fabric we use at See Her Swim is made from sustainable recycled polyester fabric, which means less resources and less CO2 emissions used in production. And it checks the long-lasting box, holding up fifty times longer than Lycra, without fading or losing its shape.

You can help your suit live its longest life by taking care of it in the best way. Follow these tips to get 100+ hours of use from your swimsuit.

  • Rinse your suit in cold water after each swim. Flushing the salt or chlorine out of the fabric will help the elastic last longer.
  • Use a mild soap if you need to clean your suit more thoroughly.
  • Hang to dry. Our fabric air-dries quickly in both the sun and the shade.
  • Avoid the spinners at the pool, as well as washing machines and dryers. These machines will stretch out your suit over time.

So whether a low back swimsuit is your thing or you’re looking for a front-zip suit for easy on and off, we’ve got you covered, season after season. Shop our long-lasting, sustainable swimwear and start planning your water adventure!

These suits purposely fit tighter than standard suits because the fabric is more durable and long lasting. The goal is wanting them to mold to your body while staying in place during your every day training. The suit holds its shape and adds some compression to the body. If you like a more relaxed fit, order up a size. This is competitive swimsuit sizing.
